Neurodiversity in the workplace

Smile Box Attends an Inspiring Neurodiversity Course

On Wednesday, 18th September, Smile Box had the privilege of attending an eye-opening and inspiring neurodiversity course held at the beautiful Abbey Hotel in Redditch.

The event, organised by Optima, brought together a truly lovely group of individuals and businesses eager to learn about the importance of embracing neurodiversity in the workplace.

The highlight of the day was an incredible talk by Holly Bolt, a specialist dyslexia and specific learning difficulties tutor and assessor. She shared her insights on how organisations can support neurodiverse individuals and create inclusive environments that empower people with different cognitive abilities. Holly’s talk was both educational and thought-provoking, helping attendees understand the unique strengths that neurodiverse individuals bring to the table.

As you know here at Smile Box, we believe that fostering an inclusive workplace is essential for business growth, innovation, and employee wellbeing. Attending this event gave us a renewed commitment to champion neurodiversity in our workspaces and in the solutions we offer to our client moving forward.

The session not only educated us on the importance of recognising and supporting neurodiverse talents but also inspired us to integrate more awareness into our future offerings, such as incorporating neurodiversity-friendly resources in our wellbeing gift boxes.

A big thank you to Optima for organising such a valuable event and to Holly Bolt for her empowering words. We left feeling motivated to make a positive impact, and we can’t wait to apply the learnings to both our internal team and the workplaces we work with.
